After landing in the hospital with respiratory trouble, which forced her to postpone a string of European concerts, Whitney Houston is fighting rumors that she relapsed into drug use. The singer has recently made candid confessions about her past substance abuse, but insists she has stayed clean.
“I’m feeling great,” Whitney declared to People magazine, explaining that she was hospitalized for seasonal allergies. “I’m ready to move on and continue my world tour.”
The songbird’s statement follows a report in In Touch magazine that she was “a hot mess” at a restaurant, shouting expletives at ex-husband Bobby Brown and even doing a line of “what to me certainly looked like cocaine,” according to a diner at the next table.
Bobby, who’s had his own share of bad behavior, “had so much trouble trying to control her,” relayed the onlooker. “He tried to make her leave, but she wouldn’t.”
But Whitney brushes off such stories as “ridiculous,” saying “at this point, I just don’t respond. I don’t even read it.”
She added, “My health is terrific. But this is a time when I get a lot of allergies.”
Most people with seasonal allergies just take antihistamines. But OK.
Desperate Jesse
Jesse James is desperately hanging on to his marriage by a thread. But his flailing attempts to win over estranged wife Sandra Bullock — like entering sex rehab, or even using his own daughter to guilt-trip her — have fallen on deaf ears.
Since news of his infidelities broke, a source told Radar Online, “the majority of communication has been through intermediaries.” But when they did speak on the phone, it was a huge blowout: “[Jesse] was drinking while they were talking. He broke down in tears and tried to manipulate [Sandra] with his daughter,” said the source. “Immediately after that conversation he started driving to [rehab in] Arizona. He was going to prove to Sandra that he was serious about saving the marriage.”
But the Oscar winner wasn’t involved in — or moved by — his decision to seek treatment, prompting him to give up and ditch rehab. When they next spoke, “[Jesse] went from being very demanding to being in tears. Then back to demanding again.”
Though he’s now back in rehab, there’s no indication Sandra will open her heart to him again. The site claims the only thing standing between her and divorce papers is a fear that Jesse will retaliate by trying to ruin her reputation. We’re dying to know what exactly he knows!

As is typical of such tabloid tales, her maybe-beau of the moment, in this case Gerard Butler, has been tapped as the supposed dad.
“Jen very much wants to have a baby girl,” an insider allegedly told OK! magazine “She had a heart-to-heart with friends and relatives and admitted this is the year she’s going to become a mom.”
The tab cites the famously fit actress’s “not-so-flat tummy” at a recent “Bounty Hunter” premiere as a telltale sign — but mind you, that’s not to say she is in fact actually pregnant.
Wow. This makes the Brad-Jen reunion story sound positively plausible.
