Armored car robbery thwarted; suspect shot

An armored truck security guard shot a teenager who tried to run off with a bag of money, D.C. police said.

The incident happened around 1 p.m. Monday, in the 1000 block of Brentwood in Northeast Washington, while the Dunbar armored guards were making a stop at the Shoe City store.

Police said the teen was shot in the lower leg and collapsed in the parking lot about 50 feet from the store.

Further information was not immediately available Police and the FBI were on scene investigating.
