Donald Trump Saturday suggested Hillary Clinton was being hypocritical for wanting to “get rid of all guns” while surrounding herself with armed body guards.
“Crooked Hillary wants to get rid of all guns and yet she is surrounded by bodyguards who are fully armed. No more guns to protect Hillary!” he tweeted.
Trump claims Hillary Clinton wants to eliminate the Second Amendment right to keep and bear arms. Clinton has not called for banning firearms.

Trump’s tweet follows his speech at the National Rifle Association’s annual gathering on Friday, where he picked up the NRA’s endorsement. Trump argued then too that Clinton wanted to abolish the Second Amendment and labeled her “Heartless Hillary.”
But Trump’s stance on gun rights appears to have changed mightily in a short period of time. In 2012, after President Obama called for change following the Newtown massacre, Trump tweeted a message of solidarity with Obama.
President Obama spoke for me and every American in his remarks in #Newtown Connecticut.

Trump has made an effort to win the support of gun-owning GOP primary voters and said on his website that he has a concealed carry permit. As the race turns toward a likely general election matchup between Trump and Clinton, Trump will continue to hammer the point home.
