‘Educated Eats’ is short and sweet

Three signs your agency’s name just might be too long:

  1. You have to take a breath while reciting your name, job title and organization.
  2. It takes three lines of newspaper type to spell it all out.
  3. Your organization’s name has been shortened to an acronym that nobody understands.

The Restaurant Association Metropolitan Washington Education Foundation (RAMW-EF), a lobbying group for the restaurant industry, took the hint. It recently changed its name to the more snazzy and beautifully shorter, Educated Eats.

“At 62 letters in length, our previous name was just too long,” said Josh Gibson, Educated Eats’ executive director. ”I would joke that our name was so long, even the acronym had punctuation.”
