House Speaker Nancy Pelosi said President Trump’s executive move to change the nation’s policy for granting asylum “violated the law” and creates “impossible hurdles” for those trying to gain entry into the United States.
“The Administration has clearly overreached their authority and violated the law with these restrictions, which will be swiftly and successfully challenged in the courts,” the California congresswoman said in a statement Monday.
