Virginia Gov. Bob McDonnell’s government reform commission delivered its final report to the governor Wednesday, including 133 recommendations to streamline and reform state government.
The report features many of the recommendations from an interim report released in October, such as privatizing Virginia’s state-run liquor stores and instituting a 4-day, 10-hour work week for certain state employees.
Another encourages the Virginia Department of Human Resource Management to educate state employees about high deductible health plans that the report says could reduce costs.
The governor will review the recommendations in coming weeks. The commission will meet again in the spring.
