‘Get out of there!’: Two bear cubs honk horn after trapping themselves in van

A security technician released two bear cubs trapped inside his vehicle near Gatlinburg, Tennessee, after the animals began honking the horn.

The bear cubs apparently crawled into the Jeff Stokely’s vehicle through the driver’s side door after Stokely parked the vehicle outside of a customer’s house, according to the Associated Press. Stokely believes that one of the cubs must have hit a button to lock the door and trap both bears inside.

Stokely found the trapped cubs after they honked the vehicle’s horn several times while searching for a way to escape. He took video of the trapped cubs and voiced concern that their mother may be nearby, though the mother bear never showed up.

Stokely eventually opened up the rear doors of his van and released the cubs back into the wild.
