A North Carolina gas station shocked drivers Thursday when it slashed its regular gas price down to $2.25 per gallon.
The move was intended to help people, the owner of the Burnsville Citgo said.
Cutting the price caused the station to take a loss on the day, but the owner said the move was worth it to help local residents as gas prices continue to soar.

“I think it’s really great and kind of them to do that for people around here like us. It’s really good of them,” said Caylie Vess, a resident of Green Mountain.
The sale took place from roughly noon until around 5 p.m., according to a report.
