President Obama’s national security adviser Susan Rice was quick to seize on reports that the White House was angered over Russia reportedly tricking the Trump administration into allowing them into the Oval Office when other media had not been permitted inside.
Rice retweeted a posting from CNN White House correspondent Jim Acosta, who stated that White House officials were “furious” over the ordeal.
WH furious over Russian government photos of Trump meeting with Lavrov/Kislyak. “They tricked us,” an official said of Russians “They lie.”

President Trump met Wednesday with Russian of Ambassador Sergei Kislyak and Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov Wednesday in what was supposed to be closed-press setting. However, members of the Russian media were permitted inside and later released photos of the meeting to American news outlets and via the Russian Embassy’s Twitter account.
Rice first drew national attention as President Obama’s United Nation’s ambassador when she appeared on several Sunday talk shows blaming the Benghazi attack on an anti-Muslim YouTube video. A narrative that was later proven to be false.
She has also been singled out by President Trump over her role in “unmasking” the names of Trump associates surveillance reports in her capacity as national security adviser.
Rice has declined requests by the Senate Intelligence Committee to testify concerning her role in the unmasking, though has maintained she did nothing wrong.
