The CEO of a planned biotech center met with Montgomery County economic leaders to discuss bringing his research to the county.
Steven Silverman, director of the Montgomery County Department of Economic Development, said Ignite’s Dietrich Stephan was seeking short-term plans for launching the genomics project. He said Ignite would come to the I-270 corridor if the county landed the center. Stephan is weighing sites throughout the Washington region.
Fairfax County dropped funding plans after Inova Health System failed to raise the money pledged for the project, The Washington Examiner reported.
