Trump: Time changed ‘Man of the Year’ to be ‘politically correct’

President-elect Donald Trump is accusing Time magazine of changing the name of its yearly award honoring the biggest newsmaker to be “politically correct.”

“They used to call it ‘Man of the Year’ but they can’t do that anymore — they want to be politically correct, that’s OK,” Trump said during a “thank you” tour stop in Des Moines, Iowa, on Thursday.

The magazine changed the title from “Man of the Year” in 1999.

Time announced Wednesday that Trump was its 2016 “Person of the Year.”

Trump said after the announcement that it was “a tremendous” honor” to be picked.
