One of Mueller’s top prosecutors scores book deal

One of the top prosecutors that was on ex-special counsel Robert Mueller’s team has a book deal to write about his time investigating Russia’s interference in the 2016 election.

Andrew Weissmann signed a deal with Random House to provide an insider’s account of his time working for the special counsel, according to the New York Times. Weissmann is the first of Mueller’s team to sign such a deal.

It is unclear what, if any, new information Weissmann may reveal or how much detail he will give about the special counsel’s inner workings and his involvement in the investigation.

Weissmann follows several other former Justice Department officials in monetizing his experience in the Trump administration.

Former FBI Director James Comey and former Deputy FBI Director Andrew G. McCabe wrote bestselling memoirs about their time in the administration and involvement in the Russia investigation. If the success of Comey and McCabe’s books are any indication, Weissmann stands to make a considerable amount off his own work.
