The woman who settled a paternity lawsuit against Hunter Biden and whom he insisted he had “no recollection” of was on the payroll of the firm he co-founded, according to text messages found on the discarded laptop believed to have belonged to the son of President Joe Biden.
The texts appear to show Hunter Biden asking an assistant about how the employment status of Lunden Roberts, the woman who took the president’s son to court in Arkansas alleging he was the father of her child, affected his insurance coverage, revealing that she worked for his company, Rosemont Seneca Partners.
“Who is pay roll paid to now and for past 9 months?” Biden asked Katie Dodge, whom the Daily Mail identified as his assistant, on Dec. 19, 2018.
“So, when you took what’s her name off and redirected her income did it also … end my insurance,” Biden asked.

“Past nine months has been you, me, Lunden, Hallie, Liz & Erin. But currently only you me & Erin,” Dodge responded.
“3 on pay roll. Only 2 need to partake in insurance,” Dodge wrote. “I have insurance. No Lunden’s removal doesn’t jeopardize insurance,” Dodge added.
The report appears to confirm statements made by Roberts’s lawyer, Clint Lancaster, who said in April around the time that Biden’s tell-all memoir, Beautiful Things, was released that his client not only knew Biden but went on trips with him.
“She stayed in hotels, some of the nicest hotels around, with Hunter Biden, traveling with him more than once,” Lancaster said in response to Biden’s book, according to the Arkansas Democrat-Gazette.
Roberts met Biden in Washington, D.C., after moving there to take classes at George Washington University, according to the outlet.
Biden wrote in his memoir that he didn’t remember any interaction with Roberts.
“I’m not proud of it,” he wrote of his ventures with women. “It’s why I would later challenge in court the woman from Arkansas who had a baby in 2018 and claimed the child was mine — I had no recollection of our encounter.”
The report from the Daily Mail also reveals a series of messages sent by Roberts to Biden in which she writes to check on him and apparently identifies the due date of their child as Sept. 8, 2018.
Weeks after receiving no response to those messages, Roberts wrote to Biden on Aug. 8, saying, “Reached out a few times, it’s clear you don’t want to be reached. Need to talk to you. If you feel the need to reach out, my line is always open. Hope all is well.”
Biden ultimately reached a settlement agreement with Roberts in March 2020, agreeing to pay child support for Roberts’s daughter, Navy Joan, who was born in August 2018.

A DNA paternity test that Biden agreed to take in October 2019 showed “with near scientific certainty” that Biden is the girl’s father, said Judge Holly Meyer of the Independence County Circuit Court, who presided over the paternity case.
Biden, 51, is now the husband of Melissa Cohen. Biden married Cohen seven days after meeting her in 2019. The two had their son Beau in March 2020. Prior to his marriage to Cohen, Biden was married to Kathleen Buhle and has three grown children with her; he later had a short-lived romance with his late brother Beau’s widow, Hallie Olivere.
