Rows of protesters lined the inaugural parade route to jeer President Trump’s motorcade as it passed Friday afternoon, many holding signs with scathing messages for the president.
Signs included “fake 45,” “racist in chief,” “tax returns now” and a cartoon of Trump’s face with Nazi swastikas.
After passing one of the crowds of protesters, the president, first lady Melania Trump and the rest of the family got out of their limousine and walked for a short portion of the route before getting back inside near the new Trump D.C. hotel.
The National Park Service granted the ANSWER Coalition a permit for 10,000 demonstrators at Freedom Plaza, about a block from the Trump hotel.
