For Marylanders, when it comes to convenience and saving money, Commerce Bank is the best place for banking at an ATM while Wachovia and M&T Bank are tops for those that use tellers.

These are some of the results of Consumer Reports? recent survey of 11,000 subscribers across the nation as part of the magazine?s Personal Banking Survey. The results are published in the September edition of the magazine, on newsstands this week.

Commerce Bank, which has ATM machines in CVS Pharmacy stores throughout Baltimore City as well as Anne Arundel, Baltimore and Howard counties, was rated No. 1 for customer convenience and savings. The bank rebates ATM fees that its customers are charged if they use another bank?s automated teller machine.

M&T Bank, which has several locations in the Baltimore region, scored 74 points out of 100, but was ranked No. 4 among 19 banks for keeping lines moving at branches. Wachovia was ranked No. 1 in customer satisfaction by those that use tellers often.
