A woman dressed as a swamp creature was removed by U.S. Capitol Police from a confirmation hearing for President Trump’s nominee for Interior secretary Thursday.
The protester, sitting a few rows behind acting Interior Secretary David Bernhardt, put on a green mask during Bernhardt’s opening statement to the Senate Energy and Resources Committee.
She remained behind Bernhardt for two hours before she was escorted out, according to the Hill.

The Western Values Project, a conservationist group that opposes Bernhardt’s nomination, has described the nominee as “the ultimate DC-swamp creature with so many potential conflicts of interest that he has to carry around a list of his former clients.”
Bernhardt is a former oil and gas industry lobbyist. If confirmed, Bernhardt will permanently replace Ryan Zinke, who announced his resignation in December amid several scandals and ethics investigations. Bernhardt has been the acting secretary of the Interior Department since the beginning of the year.
