DEARBORN, Mich. (AP) — A Detroit-area museum has developed a children’s educational activity book that focuses on social innovation and how the civil rights icon took a stand against injustice.
“Be an Innovator Like . Rosa Parks,” is geared toward kids in kindergarten through fifth grade. It’s on sale in any of The Henry Ford’s museum stores and online.
The book is shaped like the Rosa Parks bus on display inside the Dearborn museum, which last week celebrated the 100th anniversary of her birth.
Parks was arrested in 1955 for refusing to give up her seat on a Montgomery, Ala., bus to a white man, an act that helped bring the Rev. Martin Luther King Jr. to prominence.
Parks later moved to Detroit. She died in 2005.
