The International Paralympic Committee fired back at President Trump Saturday after he said the Paralympic Games were “tough to watch.”
“Record numbers around the world are not finding @Paralympics tough to watch,” the organization wrote on Twitter. “Billions of viewers now take in the Paralympics in hundreds of countries around the world. We hope the US President continues to watch and be inspired by the Paralympics.”

Trump said Friday that the Paralympics were inspiring to him, but added, “And I watched — it’s a little tough to watch too much, but I watched as much as I could.”
The remarks drew backlash on social media by critics who said the remark was derogatory. Others have suggested that he intended the remark to mean that he didn’t have time to watch or couldn’t because programs aren’t aired as much as the Olympic Games.
