VIDEO: 2014 midterms projected to be most expensive election cycle

The 2014 midterm elections are projected to be the most expensive races ever, according to a recent report by Center for Responsive Politics.

The report shows that nearly $4 billion will be spent this year by political parties, candidates and outside groups. According to the report, candidates and their parties will spend $2.7 billion and outside spending will total about $900 million.

By comparison, the Congressional races in 2010 and 2012 cost about $3.6 billion.
