President Trump’s aides are reportedly frustrated that the focus of the Group of Seven summit in France between world leaders is too centered around “niche issues” instead of economic problems that the countries must tackle.
The New York Times reported that senior administration officials have accused French President Emmanuel Macron of purposely fixating the summit on issues that play into his favor at home, such as climate change, income inequality, and gender inequality. They blamed Macron for what they perceived as the French leader emphasizing “differences” with the Trump administration.
