ALEXANDRIA, La. (AP) — Carroll Furniture, a fixture in the Alexandria business community since 1940, plans to close.
The Town Talk reports (http://townta.lk/SWOin9 ) the store property on Memorial Drive is listed for sale at $1.6 million.
The main building has more than 51,000 square feet of showroom, warehouse and office space. A secondary storage building of 16,000 square feet is also included in the listing.
The business remains open in the short term, said owner Frank Brome.
