CENTRAL FALLS, R.I. (AP) — Gov. Lincoln Chafee (CHAY’-fee) is traveling to the financially struggling city of Central Falls to join its residents and visitors participating in the Bright Future Festival.
Organizers say Saturday’s celebration of community and cultural pride features local musical performers, cultural dance performances and numerous food vendors displaying the full range of ethnic and culinary diversity found within Rhode Island’s smallest city.
Central Falls is putting on the Bright Future Festival at Jenks Park. It is a satellite event of the Pawtucket Arts Festival, which is Rhode Island’s largest celebration of performing and visual arts.
The Central Falls Bright Future Festival will end Saturday evening with the ceremonial relighting of historic CogswellTower and closing remarks by Chafee.
The Pawtucket Arts Festival runs through Sept. 30.
