Dead man found wrapped in tarp with hands and feet bound, say Philly police

Police have opened an investigation after discovering a dead man wrapped in a tarp in an unoccupied lot in Philadelphia.

The body, which was found in a lot on Ruth Street in the Kensington neighborhood Friday, belonged to 34-year-old Sirius Star, the Philadelphia Police Department said in a statement to the Washington Examiner. Star’s body had been wrapped in a tarp with his hands and feet tied, according to police.

“District Officers responded to an E-911 call for a hospital case” at 12:35 p.m. on the block of Ruth Street, police said.

Medical examiners pronounced Star dead at 12:51 p.m. “The victim had an injury to his head, which was determined to be a gunshot wound,” police added.

No weapons were found at the scene, according to the police statement.

There have been no arrests made so far, and the investigation is “active and ongoing,” according to police.
