Stormy Daniels’ lawyer: Mystery DVD tweet a ‘warning shot,’ Trump team needs to be ‘very, very careful’ after Sunday

The lawyer of adult film star Stormy Daniels, who has been embroiled in a legal battle with President Trump over an alleged extramarital affair, explained that a tweet he sent out featuring a photo of a DVD in a safe is a “warning shot” to Trump’s personal lawyer, Michael Cohen, and others associated with the president.

“That DVD contains evidence substantiating the relationship and the tweet is a warning shot,” Michael Avenatti told CNN’s Wolf Blitzer on Friday. “I want to be really clear about this: it is a warning shot, and it’s a warning shot to Michael Cohen and anyone else associated with President Trump that they better be very, very careful after Sunday night relating to what they say about my client and what spin or lies they attempt to tell the American people. But make no mistake about it, it is a warning shot.”

“Could we assume that that DVD contains evidence to back up Stormy Daniels’ position?” Blitzer asked.

“Yes,” Avenatti said in response.

The comments come less than 24 hours after Avenatti tweeted the image of the DVD with the caption, “If ‘a picture is worth a thousand words,’ how many words is this worth????? #60minutes #pleasedenyit #basta.”

Previously, it was revealed that Cohen paid Daniels $130,000 in hush money so she would not discuss her alleged relationship with Trump. Daniels signed a nondisclosure agreement in 2016, but filed a lawsuit earlier this month claiming that it should be nullified because Trump didn’t sign it.

Cohen has accused Daniels of violating a nondisclosure agreement 20 times — and argues he should collect at least $20 million in damages as a result.

Earlier this week, Avenatti said that there is more information and evidence in the case that hasn’t “come to light yet.”

The White House has denied Trump was ever involved in an affair.

Daniels, whose legal name is Stephanie Clifford, has an interview that will air on CBS’s “60 Minutes” on Sunday.
