SILVER SPRING, Md. (AP) — Montgomery County police say two men reported being held captive by armed abductors at a Marriott hotel in Silver Spring.
Police spokesman Capt. Paul Starks says the first victim was a hotel guest and had won money gambling Wednesday night at Maryland Live! casino. Early Thursday morning, the man heard a knock at his hotel door, and several people rushed in demanding cash.
Police say the intruders apparently wanted more money than the victim had. So they told him to call a friend. The friend came to the hotel, and police say three intruders took the friend to a bank to withdraw money.
The victim at the bank wrote on a withdrawal slip that he needed help. A bank teller pressed an alarm button, and the intruders eventually fled.
