Former top Romney aide blasts Trump as ‘anti-American’

Among those criticizing President Trump’s administration — for saying he and North Korean dictator Kim Jong Un are in agreement on former Vice President Joe Biden — is a former top adviser to Mitt Romney’s 2012 campaign.

Stuart Stevens asked in response: “Can you imagine Bill Clinton saying he and Saddam Hussein are in agreement in their shared criticism of George Bush? A President is using credibility of a dictator who tortured an American to death & runs a prison camp country to help his campaign.”

Stevens’ tweet has gained thousands of retweets and likes.

Kim Jong Un bashing Biden caught the attention of Trump, which he tweeted about on Saturday.

The tweet caused an uproar as many said it was another example of Trump taking the side of a brutal dictator.

Samantha Vinograd, a CNN national security analyst and former Obama official, suggested Monday that dictators are for President Trump’s reelection.

“But how many despots are on the Trump 2020 reelect campaign at this point?” Vinograd asked on Monday. “You have Kim Jong Un criticizing President Trump’s political rivals. You have Vladimir Putin criticizing Democrats … and it’s all pretty clear why they’re doing it,” saying Kim Jong Un “wants to ride the Trump train all the way through 2020.”
