Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh, who has been accused of sexual misconduct by two women, claimed Monday he has never consumed alcohol in such excess that he blacked out and failed to remember what events had transpired while drinking.
During an interview, Fox News’ Martha McCallum asked Kavanaugh if he ever “drank so much that you couldn’t remember what happened the night before.”
“No, that never happened,” Kavanaugh said in response.
“You never said to anyone, ‘I don’t remember anything about last night’?” McCallum asked.
“No, that did not happen,” Kavanaugh said.
The remarks were made after Kavanaugh admitted he drank in high school and noted that the drinking age at the time was 18, and seniors drank beer.
Kavanaugh has been accused by two women of sexual misconduct. Christine Blasey Ford, the first woman, claims Kavanaugh forced himself onto her at a high school party in the 1980s.
The New Yorker also published a piece on Sunday in which Deborah Ramirez accused Kavanaugh of exposing himself to her at a college party in the 1980s at Yale Universities when they were students.
Kavanaugh has rejected both allegations and he and Ford are slated to testify before the Senate Judiciary Committee on Thursday.
