Choking, punching, and hair-pulling in rage-fueled brawl at Disneyland

A Saturday outing to Disneyland in Anaheim, California, took a violent turn when members of a family turned on one another in a confrontation that turned physical.

Following several minutes of arguing and screaming obscenities at the “happiest place on earth,” a man in a red shirt began physically attacking adult members of his family including three women, one of whom was pushing a toddler in a stroller and another who was in a mobilized scooter.

Several dozen bystanders began filming the violent encounter with few attempting to break up the melee. The man continued to attack his family members, who aggressively fought back. Two of the women also attacked each other. The man can be heard in the video repeatedly yelling, “I’m ready to go to jail tonight!”

The woman on the scooter eventually fell to the ground after being pushed. A park janitor then arrives in an unsuccessful attempt to keep the peace, as the punching and hair-pulling continued.

A Texas man, Jason Blair, jumped in to try to stop the vicious fighting and subdued the violent man by choking him until he blacked out. Blair’s wife also jumped in to attend to some of the injured family.

Park security arrived only after the brawl had gone on for several minutes but were able to end the fighting and remove the family from the park, according to a Disneyland spokesperson.

The Anaheim Police Department arrived a short time after the fight, but did not make any arrests. Police officials did confirm that “all parties were from the same family and were uncooperative” and further said that while a report was taken on the scene, there was no video for them to review.

Now that several witnesses have posted video of the altercation to social media, Anaheim Sgt. Daron Wyatt said, “Now that we have the video, detectives will be following up to see if any criminal charges can be filed.”
