Teen found dead in Woodlawn

Steven Parrish, 18, and another man entered the woods near the teen?s Woodlawn home.

Parrish never came back out.

Now, his family is mourning and police are searching for witnesses in what they believe is a murder by stabbing.

“It?s rough,” Parrish?s father, also named Steven, said in a phone interview Friday. “Especially when it happens right by your house like this.”

The father said homicide detectives have advised him not to speak to reporters.

The teen?s body was found in a wooded area behind the unit block of Thornhurst Court at about 6:20 p.m. Thursday, Baltimore County police said in a statement.

Officers are awaiting autopsy results. Investigators said witnesses told them that at 4:50 p.m. Thursday, Parrish and another man entered the woods. Shortly thereafter the witnesses said they heard a commotion, but no one immediately called authorities, police said.

Police have no motive or suspects. Anyone with information could be eligible for a reward of up to $2,000.
