Retired Navy SEAL Robert O’Neill slammed voters for electing politicians that he said are importing communism from Russia to the United States.
O’Neill made the charge in a tweet Thursday evening, sharing a quote from former Soviet Union Premier Nikita Khrushchev suggesting communist agents from Moscow could infiltrate the U.S. government to push communist policies.
“We cannot expect Americans to jump from capitalism to communism, but we can assist their elected leaders in giving small doses of socialism until they suddenly awake to find they have communism,” Khrushchev said in 1960.
O’Neill then retweeted his post of the Khrushchev quote with the message, “Keep in mind: A lot of you elected these morons.”
O’Neill served on the SEAL team that raided the compound of al Qaeda leader Osama bin Laden in May 2011. O’Neill has claimed that he killed bin Laden during the raid by shooting the terrorist three times.
