ISLAMORADO, Fla. (AP) — A 68-year old woman from Clearwater has died while diving offshore in the Florida Keys.
Monroe County sheriff’s officials said Elizabeth Hoaglin was on a boat trip with friends, scuba diving and lobstering in about 10-feet of water Monday afternoon near Jewfish Channel.
Friends say they saw Hoaglin struggling on the surface after she was underwater for a few minutes. They pulled her into the boat, began performing CPR and called the Coast Guard.
Hoaglin was pronounced dead at the hospital. An autopsy will be done to determine the cause of her death.
