President Trump isn’t a huge fan of Federal Reserve Chairman Jerome Powell, but he says he’s “stuck with” him.
“I guess I’m stuck with you,” a source said Trump recalled telling Powell in a recent phone call, according to the Wall Street Journal.
A Federal Reserve spokeswoman told the Journal that Powell had a brief phone call with Trump on March 8, but did not comment on the nature of the conversation.
Another source present at a meeting where Trump condemned Powell last week said the president blamed Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin for recommending Powell to the top position at the Fed.

“Mnuchin gave me this guy,” Trump said at the meeting, according to the source, who added that he was “pretty rough” on Powell.
Trump has repeatedly accused the Fed of holding back the economy and the stock market. He renewed his public feud with Powell when he announced two weeks ago that he would nominate Stephen Moore, a critic of the Fed’s interest rate policy, to the board of governors.
