Kim Kardashian seen in New York City sporting all-leather dominatrix outfit

Kim Kardashian made a jaw-dropping entrance Saturday into the Ritz-Carlton Hotel on Central Park South, New York City, wearing an all-black, leather, dominatrix-like outfit including a BDSM-style face mask.

The socialite and model’s unusual outfit also included stiletto heel boots, a black leather trench coat, and a black mask with a ponytail sticking out of the back.

Kardashian traveled to New York for the Met Gala Monday night.

“It used to be the high-fashion event of the year,” historian Bronwyn Cosgrave said on the A Different Tweed podcast. “Now it’s an elaborately themed costume ball.”

The event was founded in 1948 by fashion publicist Eleanor Lambert to raise money for the Metropolitan Museum’s Costume Institute. It was taken over in 1972 by former Vogue editor Diana Vreeland and has been run by current Vogue Editor-in-Chief Anna Wintour since 1995.

The theme of this year’s event is “In America: A Lexicon of Fashion,” which is expected to prompt a broad array of unorthodox fashion choices from attendees.

In addition to Kardashian, the guest list is expected to include Jennifer Lopez, Billie Eilish, Naomi Osaka, and Rihanna, according to the New York Post.
