Bill O'Reilly writing book on Trump 'the man'

Former Fox News host Bill O’Reilly is writing a different kind of book about “the man” Donald Trump, not the president or businessman.

“It’s a big history book on the man. Not on security, economy and politics — which is what he really wanted to talk about. This is on him. Alone. The man. The human being. What he believes. His history. Background. Family. School. Friends. Thoughts. Growing up,” O’Reilly said, according to Page Six.

O’Reilly said he wants the finished product to focus a side of Trump that has never been explored before, and one that does not seek to glorify or demonize him.

“Nobody’s ever done that. This is him. Just him. Starting all the way back,” O’Reilly said of the book. “It has no agenda. Not pro, not anti, it’s just fact-based. We don’t really know the man. It’s a first-time book on just exactly what formed him.”

Last Friday, the right-leaning author and journalist spent two hours with Trump on Air Force One on a flight to Palm Beach, Fla., where Trump’s the Mar-a-Lago Club is located.

O’Reilly, who was pushed out of his position at Fox News in the spring of 2017 after the exposure of multiple sexual harassment settlements, has written several books over the years, including his Killing series.

O’Reilly said he started the book on Trump four months ago, and will soon begin the editing process. He said the book should hit bookshelves around May 2020, just “in time for the election.”

“Look, the truth is, we know what he’s done in business, what he’s accomplished. But we don’t know him,” O’Reilly said.
