Biden ally defends him on #MeToo allegation: He's a 'human golden retriever'

Following an allegation that he inappropriately kissed a woman, a supporter of former Vice President Joe Biden used a unique explanation for his behavior: He’s a “human golden retriever.”

The comment appears in a Saturday article in The Atlantic by Edward-Isaac Dovere who quoted the unnamed person defending the Biden by comparing him to a dog breed known for being very friendly.

Much like the dog, Dovere retells that “Biden has a long-established reputation for his touchy-feely ways.”

Biden was accused Saturday by Lucy Flores, a Nevada Democrat, of inappropriately smelling her hair and kissing her on the back of the neck at a campaign event in 2014.

Biden put out a statement Sunday, saying he never thought he acted inappropriately towards women.

“In my many years on the campaign trail and in public life, I have offered countless handshakes, hugs, expressions of affection, support and comfort,” Biden said. “And not once – never – did I believe I acted inappropriately. If it is suggested I did so, I will listen respectfully. But it was never my intention.”
