‘Class warfare is ugly’: Jane Lynch rips Warren for criticizing Buttigieg’s wine cave fundraiser

Actress Jane Lynch criticized Elizabeth Warren for her comments against billionaires during the latest Democratic primary debate.

During the PBS/Politico debate on Thursday night, Warren attacked Pete Buttigieg over his recent fundraiser at a California wine cave. “Billionaires in wine caves cannot pick the next president of the United States,” the Massachusetts senator said.

In a tweet on Friday afternoon, Lynch, 59, criticized Warren for perpetuating “class warfare.”

“Hello everyone,” Lynch wrote. “Billionaires in wine caves have as much right to say who gets to be president as waitresses in diners and plumbers in my bathroom. Class warfare is ugly, [Warren]. Thanks for listening everyone.”

In a separate tweet, Lynch commended Buttigieg for avoiding a broad-brush criticism of the wealthy, writing, “He never attacks anyone personally, he does not demonize.”

Lynch defended Buttigieg, but the actress endorsed his 2020 rival Amy Klobuchar on Twitter. She retweeted writer Matt Oswalt’s tweet that said: “Lets just vote for Amy Klobuchar and be done with it. A stable, intelligent, thoughtful, slightly boring president who doesn’t live on social media is just what this country needs. And I find the whole ‘eating salad with a comb’ thing kinda sexy.”

The actress endorsed his comment, writing, “Cosign oh so full heartedly!”

Not everyone appreciated Lynch’s two cents on billionaires. Several criticized her as out-of-touch for her billionaire defense.

Lynch has been acting since the late 1980s. She has since starred in several television shows, including Glee.
