Nearly a third of Greater Baltimore companies surveyed plan to add staff in the fourth quarter, according to a report released Tuesday by Milwaukee-based staffing firm Manpower Inc.
The company surveyed 35 Baltimore firms, with 32 percent planning to increase staff. The local number beat the national trend, with 22 percent of 14,000 U.S. companies surveyed expecting to hire next quarter.
According to the report, 13 percent of Baltimore-area firms plan to reduce their staff, including employers in the construction and non-durable goods manufacturing sectors.
