‘SNL’: Laura Ingraham reveals new sponsors

Saturday Night Live” cast member Kate McKinnon added another character to her sprawling roster this weekend, playing Fox News anchor Laura Ingraham in an appearance on “Weekend Update.”

The sketch focused on the recent controversy that saw dozens of sponsors boycott Ingraham’s show after she mocked Parkland, Fla., high school shooting survivor David Hogg on late last month for getting rejected by multiple California universities.

As the number of sponsors who distanced themselves from Ingraham grew, she announced that she would be taking a week off for Easter vacation with her family. A Fox News spokesperson confirmed to the Washington Examiner that Ingraham’s week off was pre-planned, but the “SNL” sketch played up the skepticism.

The sketch features a number of new, mock sponsors for Ingraham’s show, including: Carl’s Sr., YourPillow, Shkreli’s Jelly, Lady Bump Stock, Reverse Mortgage, Malaysian Airlines, and Cream Soda.

Other notable roles McKinnon has played include Attorney General Jeff Sessions and White House counselor Kellyanne Conway.
