U.S. Sen. Mark Warner is tied with New Mexico’s Jeff Bingaman for the sixth most popular senator, according to a poll released Friday, with Virginia Gov. Bob McDonnell and U.S. Sen. Jim Webb, D-Va. also faring well among Virginia voters.
McDonnell has a 46 percent job approval margin, compared to 34 percent who disapprove, up from a 44-36 split in November, according to the Democratic-leaning firm Public Policy Polling.
Webb’s popularity has also ticked up since November: Webb enjoys a 48-35 approval margin compared to a 43-37 margin from a few months ago. Meanwhile, 58 percent of those polled approve of Warner’s job performance, compared to just 29 percent who disapprove, which ties him with New Mexico’s Jeff Bingaman as the sixth most popular senator.

The survey was of 524 voters from Feb. 24-27 and has a margin of error of +/- 3.5 percent.
