Comedian and actor Ricky Gervais, 61, had two words for someone who suggested he host the 2023 Golden Globes show.
“F*** that,” Gervais wrote on Twitter in response to the suggestion. His tweet also included a “laughing with tears” emoji.
The initial tweet suggesting Gervais host the Golden Globes again included a clip from when he hosted the awards show in 2020, showing him slamming liberal hypocrisy and woke culture.

‘BEWARE THE ‘WOKES’’: JOHN CLEESE TO HOST NEW SHOW THAT PUSHES BACK ON CANCEL CULTURE
“Let’s have a laugh at your expense. Remember, they are just jokes. We’re all going to die soon, and there is no sequel,” Gervais told the audience of celebrities in 2020.
The 2020 Golden Globes marked the fifth time Gervais hosted the show. His opening monologue went viral on social media that year. In it, he called those in attendance “perverts” and said he decided against an in memoriam because “it wasn’t diverse enough.”
“No, it was mostly white people, and I thought, ‘Nah, not on my watch,’” Gervais said then. “Maybe next year. Let’s see what happens,” he added with a chuckle.
Gervais closed out his monologue by telling the room of potential winners to avoid making “a political speech” should they receive an award, saying they should not “lecture the public about anything. You know nothing about the real world.”

At that time, Gervais said he would not be hosting another show.
