Amy Christopher focuses on turning good into great. President of Warschawski, a Baltimore-based public relations, media and branding firm, Christopher
has her employees work and play hard. And while winning more than 150 industry awards during the last eight years, including “Small Agency of the Year” in 2006, has been rewarding, Christopher is always learning every day and looking for ways to keep Warschawski among the best in the business.
Q What is the story behind coming to Warschawski?
A I remember reading an article about the agency?s global repositioning work with Adidas, and I knew at that moment that this was the winning
team I wanted to join. Since then, I have had the pleasure of working with some of the world?s leading brands, including Under Armour, Black & Decker/DeWalt, The Athlete?s Foot, Century 21, USA Swimming, Ripken Baseball and the United States Olympic Committee.
Q What is the most important thing you learned coming into this job?
A Clients care about how you can help them achieve business results and grow the strength of their brand. That is why our approach to doing marketing communications is so directly tied into the business goals of our clients and focused on helping them build powerhouse brands.
Q What are your future goals for the company?
A Too often, companies play at the level of commodity where they can only compete on price. Having a powerful brand enables you to create an emotional connection with target audiences and invite them to be part of something larger that fits into their lives ? as your brand ambassadors. Our goals revolve around communicating this message to a larger audience and to grow our team of talented professionals to support this growth.
Q What is the most rewarding part of your job?
A The people ? hands down. Warschawski is a team-oriented environment and we care about each other just like a family. On a monthly basis, we take the team on a fun outing for a half day to ensure that team members have an opportunity to connect with one another on a personal level. We also have weekly meetings and awards with the staff to discuss ideas and reward hard work.
