U.S. Senate candidate and former Virginia Gov. George Allen presented a sharply critical view of President Barack Obama’s energy policies and his push to invest more clean-energy technology, instead emphasizing the benefits of the country’s resources at home in an op-ed published in the Washington Examiner this week – interesting timing, notes the Richmond Times-Dispatch.
That’s because Republican Gov. Bob McDonnell’s administration this week was talking about how offshore wind farms, though still in the early stages of development, are a significant part of his energy policy, reported Virginia Statehouse News.
Are Allen and McDonnell going to differ on everything? Of course not. But in case anyone missed this apparent departure, the Democratic Party of Virginia sent out an email linking to the Times-Dispatch piece Wednesday afternoon.
