Rep. Dan Crenshaw, a Texas Republican, rejected a claim by former Vice President Joe Biden that President Trump’s decision to suspend travel to parts of Europe won’t help stop the spread of the coronavirus.
“A wall will not stop the coronavirus,” Biden, the front-runner in the Democratic presidential primary contest, tweeted Thursday night about how Trump’s immigration policy on the southern border is linked to the coronavirus outbreak.
“Banning all travel from Europe — or any other part of the world — will not stop it,” Biden added. “This disease could impact every nation and any person on the planet — and we need a plan to combat it.”

Crenshaw disagreed with Biden’s claim.
“First, walls quite literally stop a virus,” the Texas Republican said. “It’s kind of the whole point of a quarantine, for instance.”
“Second, assuming you meant this metaphorically, health experts like Dr. Fauci and everyone else agree travel restrictions have vastly slowed the spread of the virus in the US,” he added.
