A military aircraft crashed in northern Oklahoma Friday afternoon, but the pilot was able to eject prior to impact and has been recovered, according to a local media report.
A T-38 aircraft crashed near Mutual, Okla., approximately 50 miles west of Vance Air Force Base, the facility confirmed in a tweet.
The pilot is conscious and being treated by emergency responders, Vance AFB added.

The plane and nearby land in the pasture it struck are on fire, and firefighters from local towns Woodward, Sharon, Mutual, and Mooreland are all on scene.
In June, a Navy pilot died when his aircraft crashed near the Holloman Air Force Base in New Mexico.
Navy Lt. Christopher Carey Short, of Canandaigua, N.Y., had been flying a A-29 Super Tucano jet when it went down over the Red Rio Bombing Range. Short had been taking part in a training flight for the Air Force’s Light Attack Experiment.
