Three nightclubs file suit against Pr. George’s County

Published

Three businesses have filed a federal civil suit against Prince George’s County government, saying two recently passed bills place “seriously burdensome restrictions” on strip clubs operating in the county and violate First Amendment and other rights.

The lawsuit challenges the Adult Entertainment Clubs and the Use and Occupancy bills approved by the County Council on July 18. Some of the complaints include that the legislation violates equal protection doctrine, imposes prior restraint on activities protected by the First Amendment and circumnavigates due process.
