Omarosa speaks highly of Melania Trump in book that disparages the president

Fired White House staffer Omarosa Manigault Newman speaks highly of first lady Melania Trump in her forthcoming book “Unhinged,” which is mostly critical of President Trump.

“I will say that she is an incredible mother,” the book says.

Manigault Newman describes Trump as a doting mother who attends all of her son Barron’s school activities and events, meets with his teachers, and gives him hugs and kisses.

“The world doesn’t get to see this side of her but I have, and I respect her deeply for it,” she writes.

The first lady has been deeply private during her husband’s time in the White House. She appeared few times alongside him on the campaign trail, mostly staying in New York City to care for their son. Melania Trump postponed moving to the White House upon her husband’s inauguration until Barron finished his school year.

Manigault Newman also addresses the president’s alleged affairs with adult film actress Stormy Daniels and Playboy model Karen McDougal. The president has denied such affairs happened.

The first lady has been mostly silent about the allegations, except for her spokesperson pushing back on a statement made by the president’s lawyer Rudy Giuliani, who said Melania Trump believed her husband.

“I don’t believe Mrs. Trump has ever discussed her thoughts on anything with Mr. Giuliani,” Stephanie Grisham said in June.

Manigault Newman writes that she wasn’t sure if the former model was aware of her husband’s alleged affairs, but “only Melania knows the bargain she made in her mind to tolerate her husband’s behavior.”

The first lady’s office did not immediately respond to the Washington Examiner’s request for comment.
