Energy, health care, Metro on menu for governor’s Va. delegation meeting

In a Wednesday meeting on Capitol Hill lasting nearly an hour, Virginia Gov. Bob McDonnell met with members of Virginia’s Congressional delegation and discussed an array of issues currently affecting the Old Dominion, including energy, health care, and transportation.

McDonnell spoke about the impact of the federal health care bill on Virginia and where the state’s legal challenge stands, his push to gain state representation on the Metro board, and his support for the nuclear industry in the state, despite recent events overseas in Japan.

“It was a substantive and productive meeting touching on a range of issues,” said McDonnell spokesman Tucker Martin.
