Trump sends 7-year-old attacked at Democratic convention a signed ‘MAGA’ hat and other goodies

President Trump sent a gift package to the 7-year-old boy who was seen in a viral video with his mother being confronted by two women outside of the Democratic National Convention in Wilmington, Delaware, last month.

Students for Trump, a group led by Charlie Kirk, the CEO for Turning Point USA, tweeted a photo on Tuesday of assorted items, including a signed “Make America Great Again” hat, a mug, a water bottle, and a number of other presidential paraphernalia it said was delivered to the boy, Riley, and his mother, Abbey.

The White House confirmed to the Washington Examiner that it sent the gifts to Riley and that the items were from the president’s personal collection.

Video that was shared by Students for Trump last month showed two women walking past Riley’s mother, ripping up their signs in support of Trump, and taking her son’s “Make America Great Again” hat.

Riley is seen in the video objecting to the girls’ actions. “That’s somebody else’s hat!” he said, appearing to cry. “I just wanted to sit on the floor.”

“Mom, call 911!” he pleaded.

Abbey said in a statement that she was waiting for a table with her son at a restaurant after attending a protest against Democratic presidential nominee Joe Biden when the women approached.

“We were standing outside peacefully minding our own business waiting for our table,” her statement read. “Suddenly, two Joe Biden supporters began to yell political epithets at my child. They ripped the sign from my arms and assaulted my seven year old son. The Joe Biden supporters laid hands on my child and ripped his ‘Make America Great Again’ hat from his head while cursing at him and pushing him over. The two Joe Biden supporters verbally and physically assaulted my child. My 7 year old child was sobbing and screaming.”

Abbey also claimed she was punched in the face and hit with the women’s purses several times. Her son’s hat was eventually thrown over a fence.

Trump’s eldest son, Donald Trump Jr., was among those who responded with disgust to the video. He called the incident “sick” and urged his followers to help identify the women in the video.

Wilmington police were called to the scene of the confrontation outside a brewery and later arrested the women, identified as 21-year-old Olivia Winslow and 21-year-old Camryn Amy.

Winslow was charged with robbery, conspiracy, and endangering the welfare of a child. She was arraigned and released. Amy was charged with the same three offenses and offensive touching.
