House Judiciary Committee Chairman Jerry Nadler said lawmakers remain in negotiations with special counsel Robert Mueller over his appearance before the panel to testify about his report into Russian interference in the 2016 election.
Nadler, D-N.Y., said Mueller won’t appear next week, which is when he initially predicted the testimony would take place.

Justice Department officials said talks are ongoing but complicated by the Judiciary Committee vote this week to hold Attorney General William Barr in contempt of Congress.
“It won’t be next week,” Nadler said. “We are negotiating,” Nadler said Friday.
Panel Democrats, who have a majority, cited Barr for refusing to turn over the unredacted Mueller report.
A House vote on the contempt charge has not been scheduled.
Barr is legally prohibited from releasing the unredacted report.
Nadler said he would subpoena Mueller if he refuses to appear.
