One pedestrian is dead and another is in critical condition after separate car accidents in D.C. and Maryland early Sunday morning
A pedestrian was struck by a car and killed around 5:30 a.m. near RFK Stadium, police said. The accident closed southbound 295 near East Capitol Street until 10:30 a.m. as police investigated. The driver remained on the scene.
Around 3 a.m. a pedestrian was struck on the southbound side of the Capital Beltway near Pennsylvania Avenue in District Heights, police said. The pedestrian was taken to the hospital in critical condition.
Police continue to investigate both accidents.
